University of Surrey ก่อตั้งเมื่อปี 1960 แต่เดิมเป็น Battersea College มีวิทยาเขต 2 แห่งตั้งอยู่ที่ Stag Hill และ Manor Park ซึ่งอยู่ไม่ไกลจากตัวเมือง Guildford เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยที่ครบวงจรในทุกๆด้านจึงได้รับรางวัล University of the Year ในปี 2016 จาก Times & Sunday Times University Guide ได้รับคะแนนด้านความพึงพอใจของนักศึกษา อีกทั้งอัตราการจ้างงานที่สูงมากจึงทำให้ Times and Sunday Times ได้ให้คำนิยมต่อมหาวิทยาลัยว่า เป็นหนึ่งใน “มหาวิทยาลัยที่มีนวัตกรรมและการพัฒนามากที่สุดใน สหราชอาณาจัก”
