Leicester

University of Leicester ก่อตั้งเมื่อปี 1927 ตั้งอยู่ในเขต East Midlands มหาวิทยาลัยมีชื่อเสียงทางด้านงานวิจัย โดยภาควิชา Archaeology ที่ได้ค้นพบหลักฐานทางโบราณคดีของ พระเจ้าริชาร์ดที่ 3 ซึ่งทำให้มหาวิทยาลัยมีความโดดเด่นในแวดวงงานวิจัยโลกเป็นอย่างมาก ทางด้านภาควิชา Physics and Astronomy มีเจ้าของสถาบันการวิจัยทางอวกาศที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในทวีปยุโรปที่ตั้งอยู่ภายในมหาลัย ส่วนงานวิจัยทางด้าน School of Museum Studies เป็นหนึ่งในสถาบันการวิจัยระดับท็อปของประเทศ ซึ่งสาขา Museum Studies อยู่ในอันดับสูงสุดของสหราชอาณาจักร
